Cooper is a handsome, 3.5 year old stocky boy who has been a great hunting companion. Obedience and whistle trained, Cooper has retrieved many birds and ducks. While he’s talented in the field, he’s just as happy to be a well mannered buddy fetching with the kids and playing with toys around the house. He was the life of the party at a recent family gathering at his foster mom’s house!
Cooper is housetrained and can be left in the house without worry. With his easy going nature, he gets along with dogs, cats and everyone regardless of age. Due to a change in family circumstances, there has not been much time to exercise and Cooper came to us quite overweight at 108 pounds. His foster mom has him on a healthful diet and program of exercise to help get him reach a more fit 90 pounds. While he’d like to see more in the bowl at meal time, he loves his daily walks and hikes!
Cooper loves retrieving bumpers, balls or toys for fun, water, playing with toys and playing in general. He has an excellent sit-stay, both in terms of distance and duration, and is wonderful off leash, as you would expect from a Lab trained for hunting. On leash he’s quite a strong puller. He’s has very nice car manners and will “load” on command.
Cooper loved the bath and brushing at his foster mom’s house and was tolerant of the oft dreaded toenail snip. He absolutely adores attention and is right there with little kisses of appreciation. His foster mom remarked,” Cooper is a great dog; there is absolutely everything to love about him!”
We’re sure you’ll agree when you meet this handsome, sweet natured, well trained, big lovable lug of a Lab!
