Hi there, I’m Cookie! I’m a shy but sweet girl who’s looking for a special forever home where I can truly shine. Let me tell you a little about myself! I’m a bit on the timid side, especially when meeting new people. Slow introductions are best for me, whether you’re a child, teenager, or adult. Once I warm up to you, though, you’ll see that I have a lot of love to give! I haven’t met many strangers that I feel comfortable approaching on my own, but with patience and gentle encouragement, I can learn to trust. I’m good with other dogs, especially my big resident dog buddy. We get along great, and I love having a furry friend to keep me company. On walks, I prefer to avoid other dogs, but I’m not reactive—I just like my space. I also get along well with cats and understand when they need their space too. House training is something I’m still working on, and I’m not crate trained yet. I don’t have any aggressive behaviors, though I do get scared easily by sudden movements or loud noises. I’m known to “talk” when left alone, so having another dog around really helps me feel secure. I have a lot of energy and need a good amount of exercise, ideally in quiet areas where I can relax without the stress of cars, strangers, or other dogs. When it comes to my favorite activities, I absolutely love belly rubs! You’ll often find me doing zoomies when I’m feeling playful, or stopping in front of you for some much-needed tummy scratches. I might be shy at first, but once I trust you, my goofy and silly side comes out in full force. My ideal home would be in a quiet area with a big yard where I can run around and feel safe. I would thrive with a family that is home most of the time and has another dog to help boost my confidence. With time, patience, and lots of love, I have the potential to become a confident and happy pup.
