We don't know much about this big boy we named Cole except that he came in as a stray, was in need of grooming as evidenced by his picture, weighed in at approximately 100 pounds and was identified as a Sammie/Malamute cross.
At the beginning, Yuba County Animal Care Services thought by the way he was acting he might be aggessive and unresponsive to humans. He definitely didn't like having a pole put around his neck and pulled to a truck where he was loaded into a small crate. Well, who wouldn't? Once offloaded though, he calmly walked into the shelter's office where he allowed everyone to pet him. Aggressive and nonresponse? Absolutely not and several days later when he was pulled by NorSled, he reaffirmed just what a good boy he is when he calmly walked across the parking lot and immediately jumped into the back of an SUV where he rode without incident to the local vet's office. Although once at the vet's he remained calm and well behaved, the scale used to determine his weight did seem to scare him, but then..... it can be said that it scares many humans as well ;-).
Cole is probably 3-4 years old, does well on lead, loves riding in the car and is now looking for his own forever home. He's neutered, microchipped and current on his Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella. Unfortunately, however, he tested positive for heartworm so over the next few weeks will be undergoing treatment. That doesn't mean though that he can't be adopted now and being such a great boy, who wouldn't want to? He'll just stay with his foster mom until his final treatment when he can then go home with you.
