My Story

Cody and Asha have arrived into foster care in Southern, Maine.

We would LOVE to have them adopted together as they have spent their entire life togehter. For Asha click here

Cody (Black and White) was born in March 2007 and is 3 1/2 years old in these pictures taken October 9, 2010. His owners picked him and his sister, Asha, out of a litter of 7. Their mom was a Great Pyrenees and dad was a Mastiff.

Cody and Asha are super sweet dogs. Their owners are sad that they have had to move to another town due to a new job. The smaller home is not suitable for dogs of their size, so cannot take them.

Cody is a BIG boy with an even larger heart. He is laid back and extremely gentle. A little shy at first when he first meets new people, however, he soon warms up and wants attention. Cody is housebroken; is wonderful with children; does all right with the owners' cat; and enjoys playing with toys. He gets along with the dogs in his foster home. He does need work walking on a leash and gets a little sick when he rides in a car. Cody is allergic to Lamb and Rice food.

Cody is up to date on shots, is neutered; and is HW negative. He is on HW preventative and weighs 124 lbs. .

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning "pending adoption".

If this Dog is marked Urgent, it is because the Arkansas shelter where he/she resides is overfull. Please do not ask local shelters to take this dog in, there are many reasons why they cannot. Please also do not send us letters about why we euthanize, AHR does not euthanize, but the shelters we work with do. We are a rescue and we pull as many dogs as we have foster homes and funds for. We, like the shelter, do not have unlimited resources. Please, please: foster, adopt or sponsor a dog to help save their lives.

. We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $350 for puppies through 6 months of age, $300 for dogs 7 months-5 years, and $275 for dogs 6 years and older. Bonded Pairs are $250 each. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and transport from Arkansas to Maine on a USDA approved transport with a Health Certificate. All dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to leaving Arkansas. All dogs will be tested for Heartworm prior to adoption. Almost Home Rescue will process your adoption. Applications can be found at www.almosthomerescue.net and can be e-mailed attention of Adele at lonepine_ahr@yahoo for this particular dog. Click HEREto visit our site.
