My Story

Cody is a sweet, happy, energetic purebred Vizsla that is looking for a home filled with love and activities. He is a 17 month old typical “Velcro” dog that does not want you to be out of his sight. Cody enjoys walks, going to the dog park, riding in the car and playing with plush toys in the back yard. Cody gets along well with the dogs in his foster home. He also likes the cats in his foster home, but he will chase them if they act like they are afraid of him. So why is Cody in rescue? He came from a shelter in southern New Mexico after being relinquished by an owner who had chained him in the yard, neglected him and left him with undiagnosed and untreated Valley Fever. Cody needs to continue his treatment for Valley Fever (2 pills a day of anti-fungal medication) and be monitored by a veterinarian for at least the next year. Cody is crate trained and walks with a Gentle Leader. He has been neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date on routine shots. If you think Cody may be the dog for you, please go to www.coloradovizsla.org and fill out an application. You can call Cody’s foster mom at 505-400-0390 for more information about Cody.
