My Story

GREAT PUPPY !!

Are you my Mother???? I need a Mom really bad - I just want to be loved. Could you love me? I am the perfect son   …. CODY ...This guy has an outstanding temperament

3-4 month old male Hound Mix .. Mom  was a Treeing Walker Coon Hound … Dad well we just don’t know and Mom is not saying ??

Here is a link to breed info: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/treeingwalkercoonhound.htm

He is really wonderful, responsive, obedient, is great with kids and dogs of all sizes. He has a “solid” personality >> confident and self assured. He is curious without being mischievous. Cody is very easy going and never needy. He is not a jumpy, nippy, fidgety pup I call him the "old man pup". He enjoys the car, long walks, playing with toys, running with other dogs, hanging out in the yard with the family. He will grow to a medium/large dog he has short hair and weighs about 28 pounds now.

Cody is being fostered in a home with toddlers and he is gentle and respectful of them and their toys. The kids can take anything from him and he just finds something else. He is not destructive walks well on leash and is 90% housetrained (he still needs to be let out on schedule). Cody will stay nice in a crate if need be and also is used to an outdoor runner.

Because he is a young guy we would prefer a home with a fenced yard and someone home a good part of the day to complete his training. Cody needs to go to family that will be able to give a canine companion to play with or a jogger or a firm commitment to meet his exercise needs. Although they are not great he is a working dog and will need an outlet for that.

From his Foster “This boy is a total sweetheart and loves everyone. Cody is so easy to have around he never does anything wrong, he has a dignity about him well beyond his age. He gets along with other dogs and loves people. He loves to play with other dogs and is a gentle player with dogs of all sizes. He does not have a mean bone in his body and a very consistent guy. He spends some time in the yard … comes in follows me from room to room dropping like a stone to get some rest.  Cody was rescued from a South Carolina shelter and is now ready to make some lucky family very happy”

We will consider all completed applications and arrange placement in the home that best meets his needs.  Cody comes with a discount coupon for training from Canine Coaching … we believe that training is a wonderful way to enhance both your new bond and ensure a forever placement.

The Adoption Facts:

1.       You must be 21 years or older to adopt

2.       We DO NOT place pets more than 100 miles out of NYC

3.       An adoption application is required (link below)

4.       There is a pre-screening process for potential home placement,

including a phone interview and the initial application. (This benefits you, our foster

homes and the pet.) This is all done BEFORE you meet the pet.

5.       Be advised that we do respond to each and every completed  application within

a 14 day period. Please be patient we know you are anxious to adopt

there are only so many hours in a day. We are trying our best. At this time we are

unable to respond to emails with questions (will he fit my home? Is he available? I have xyz will he like it here?)

We recommend completing an application after which we will be able to answer ALL your questions.

Go to http://www.northstarplacement.petfinder.com for more information on the adoption guidelines.

Do not send e-mail inquires concerning availability, if you see a pet listed at the web site, then the pet is definitely available.
