My Story

Meet CLYDE. As in Clydesdale! He is pure Bullmastiff, weighing in a 100 lbs. and still growing! Clyde has been through basic training and will continue to need that reinforced. He is about 18 months old currently, and does require space and lots of food! He has the strength of a horse and that may explain why he was found as a stray by animal control. He does not jump up, and plays gentle with little people and will listen when you have his full attention - which usually needs to include a snack. He is good with other dogs, but not fully aware of his immense size. He has demonstrated a prey/chase drive towards cats, so a cat-free home is strongly recommended. As a working dog, he will need to be given tasks and made a participating family member. Clyde is house-trained well, but until his neuter surgery is performed, he will have an occasional need to mark. Adopting this guy will require a serious commitment. Please understand the breed before considering adoption! As an additional resource, more info on the Bullmastiff breed can be found at www.akc.org. His adoption fee is $325, which will include his neuter and all vaccines, microchip and general exam. For more information on Clyde and our adoption process, call 952-368-7297, extension 1, or go to our website for an application: www.swmetroanimalrescue.org. If not ready to adopt, please consider fostering. We are always welcoming new foster homes. Sorry, we do not do out of state adoptions. Serious inquiries only please.
