My Story

November 2006 - Chloe has been adopted!

Chloe has been with her foster family since March. She is free of mange and yeast, and is thriving and happy. She is training well and has become a part of the family, therefore, we, her foster parents are happy to announce that we have decided to adopt her.

Congrats on your new home Chloe! You are one lucky girl to have the home you do now!

August 2006:

Chloe loves dogs and people and would be a great little sister to a playful brother of any breed, as long as she gets to be the boss! Chloe is completely house-trained, and has learned how to wait, come "over here!", sit, stay and heel, and she a very good dog off leash at the park and beach. Chloe is a great traveller in the car too! Chloe can swim, but prefers to wade, and enjoys going out the beach to play in the water on hot days. She also enjoys playdates with friends, both human and canine, of her foster family. Chloe likes to sleep in the "big" bed at night and is an impressive snorer! She's a strong, tough, smart and comical little dog, and if her foster family didn't already have an alpha female, they would be keeping her. Chloe is about 1 year old now and is probably a full grown "mini" at 30 pounds. Update from Chloe's foster family February 14th:

Chloe is an adorable puppy with lots of personality. She has adjusted well to a foster home with 3 dogs twice her size, and hasn't noticed that she is the smallest! Chloe has an alpha personality, and if anything is going on, the pitter patter of little feet running to see what is happening will be heard.. She loves food, and is on the raw food diet to help her recover from a bad case of mange. She has trained well using treats and knows how to sit, leave it, and come. She is completely house trained. She will need to stay on the raw diet for optimum health, but at her size it will not be a big expense. Chloe goes on a daily one hour trail walk with her foster brothers and sister and keeps us without any trouble. Chloe loves toys and enjoys playing with squeaky toys and tries to "kill" the squeaker. (She does!) Chloe is a cuddly baby, and loves to be snuggled under a blanket with you, although she does snore rather loudly! She also likes to sit on your lap. Chloe would be good with other dogs, but would be fine on her own, as she really likes people, and follows the human family around the house. Chloe is affectionate, funny, smart and spunky and deserves a great home with lots of love, attention, and quality food.

Upon arrival, Jan 2005:

This sweet young girl has come to TnT Rescue with not a hair on her little body. She has demodex, a type of mange, and is being nursed back to health in a loving foster home. Little Chloe is a sad example of what can happen, but should never be let to happen, to a dog with this condition. She is not only suffering from itchy, irritated and infected skin but also very underweight.
We will post photos showing her progress and keep up-dates here as well so please keep checking in on sweet Chloe. We have posted one photo of her naked little body the day she came to us. We will post updated photos as she heals and the ones of her in clothes are from her foster home and were taken at week two in our care.

If you are able to make a donation to Chloe's care it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact us if you can contribute and we will provide a tax receipt for your charitable donation.

We hope to report that Chloe is recovering well and will up-date her photos and profile as she heals.
Chloe will be looking for a loving new home once she is well and we hope you will keep in touch if you have been touched by her and her story. She is a very sweet and loving girl who enjoys hanging out with the other dogs in her foster home and is definitely enjoying all the TLC she is getting now as well. Thanks go out once again to the Virtue family for taking in another needy Shar-pei to foster and nurse back to health.
