My Story

Chief is a healthy, gentle, and calm seven year old Great Pyrenees that loves people and kids. He is a good guard dog and alerts when a car or person approaches the home. He was brought up with cats and he is very friendly with other dogs. Chief attended obedience school, responds to many commands in two languages, and does not challenge his ranking. He likes to sit out side and watch as though he is guarding a herd of sheep. When inside, he usually goes to the coolest part of the house and lays down. He weighs about 110lbs but seems bigger than he really is because of his wonderful fur. When he is inside he never runs. Despite his size, he maneuvers gracefully and delicately. He does not drool unless he is hot. He does not care much for food and never begs for it. When he was 3-4 years old, a tumor was discovered in his left eye that resulted in removing that eye. This has not affected his maneuverability or character.
The beauty of a Great Pyrenees can take your breath away, but they are unique dogs which require dedicated owners who have thoroughly researched the traits of the breed. Feel free to visit our website at www.nepyresq.org for information to start your journey!
