Their Story:
Chewbacca is a 12 week old irish wolfhound mix that came to the shelter as a stray.

If you've been checking out petfinder lately you'd know that there was recently another little irish wolfhound mix that was here. The other one was a female and was smaller than Chewbacca, but is likely a litter mate since they both came from the same area.

Chewbacca is a very happy puppy. He loves to be outside and is always ready to play! He is very large as a puppy and will grow up to be a huge dog. Right now he's in his puppy stages, equivilent to a two year old. He uses his mouth a lot to feel different things (they use their mouths to understand what an object feels like), but he also does play bite quite a bit, and will need an owner that will correct him each time he overdoes the biting. Because this can be scary for little children, he shouldn't be around them until he knows how to control himself. Because he's at a young age, training should be picked up right away to make him a calmer, more obediant dog. Because even if you don't mind him jumping on people now, you have to think to the future when he's going to be an extra big dog.

Our adoption policys include: No same day adoption. This is to ensure that there are no impulse buys. If you currently have animals or had animals in the past, we need to check with the vet clinic to make sure they are up-to-date on vaccinations. We now require proof of home-ownership due to some landlords not allowing pets. You can call the shelter if you have any questions.
