Chester

Meet cutie pie Chester! Poor Chester was given up by his owners because their son and grandkids moved in with them, and Chester is simply not a fan of hyper kids. Chester is a neat little guy. He is about 8 pounds and is approximately 7 years old. He is great with dogs and cats, but unfortunately, because he is being moved out of a home with kids, we don't want to set him up to fail in another home with kids, so a kid-free home would be ideal. He was raised with other dogs and has always been in a home with them (except for the past year after his buddy died of old age), so we think he would really do well in a home with other dogs. He is also good with cats -- he does like to play with them and has gotten a slap a time or two!

Chester is a unique little character and is oh so funny! He loves to go for walks - his foster mom walks him every day. He has been raised by women and prefers women over men -- he is quite the ladies man!

Chester is not a big toy player, but he will chase a ball every now and then -- but don't bet on him bringing it back to you. Although he loves walks, he is a homebody and does not like being left outside by himself.

While he is still not big on little hyper kids, he does do fine with ones who know how to behave around dogs. He likes some men who don't wear hats and are softer in their gate and voice. In all, his foster mom believes a firm and loving home would be good for him, and he needs humans who will communicate with him because he does great when he is told why things are being done to him (getting medicine, putting on his leash, etc.).
