**adopted**Checkers (the foster parents cll him Whiley) is a male Pomeranian who came to our rescue from a family who had too many dogs and they financially were not able to care for them. Checkers is about a year old and about 10-12 pounds. It appears that he was not very well socialized for being in a family setting, as he was a little nervous and unsure at first. Checkers is in a foster family that is working on socialization, trusting people and new situations and being around other pets. His foster home has older children who are working with him on socializing too and getting used to being around kids, cats and dogs. Smaller children under the age of 5 are not recommended at this time. The foster family has discoverd that he knows some tricks like waving "bye-bye". Checkers is neutered, shots updated, wormed, treated for fleas and ticks and vet checked. He will need a home who is willing to give him time to adjust and bring him to his full pototential. With time and lots of love he will make a great little companion. An adoption donation of $100 covers his medical work.
