My Story

Charmin' was born in January and is absolutely adorable! She was born with a birth defect in her left rear foot and has no toes on that foot. The pad is there, just no toes. The third picture shows her two rear feet side by side. She is very active and plays with the other Pyrs in her foster home for hours. Her lack of toes does not hold her back at all but the adoptive family will need to be prepared to monitor her as she grows. She will most likely need a prosthetic in the future to keep her rear quarters sound. Charmin' is working hard to be housetrained but isn't quite there yet! She loves playing with the cat in her foster home and rides very well in the car. The beauty of a Great Pyrenees can take your breath away, but they are unique dogs which require dedicated owners who have thoroughly researched the traits of the breed. Feel free to visit our website at www.nepyresq.org for information to start your journey! Northeast Pyrenees Rescue only sponsors dogs from New England and New York for placement in homes in our region. If you are interested in meeting Charmin', please complete our application at http://www.nepyresq.org/adopapp.htm. You can e-mail questions to us at [email protected].
