CHARLIE

My name is Charlie and I am a very handsome 2 year old chocolate lab that is a sweet boy that is looking for a home to call my own. Here is what my foster mom Miss Mary has to say about me! Charlie is a people loving dog. He loves to be petted and if you stop petting him he will worm his head under your hand to “encourage” you to keep going. He will keep fishing for a pet for awhile and then when he knows you are not interested he is perfectly happy to plop down by your feet and just BE with you. He has no interest in our cat—completely ignores him. Charlie gets along well with our dogs, and they play a bit, but he is more of a loner. He is much more focused on us and our attention than needing attention from other dogs. Charlie is very easy to take care of. He does not bark excessively and we don’t have any problems with him chewing on furniture or causing any damage. He knows all the basic commands—sit, out, come-etc. He doesn’t really care about treats, he responds extremely well to praise. I think he really wants to be a lap dog—he does this weird hunched over thing to look really small—so he can cuddle with you. He also loves to rub his head against yours and of course he absolutely adores a good stomach scratch. He enjoys walks, but is perfectly happy to play in the backyard. In the house he is very calm and controlled. When our dogs get over excited—he sits on the sidelines and watches. This is a truly handsome dog that has red highlights on his back, and beautiful copper colored eyes. Charlie will be a wonderful companion and friend for anyone lucky enough to adopt him.
