"Chance" is uniquely marked and he is a VERY special dog to us, so we are waiting for the perfect adopter for him. A dignified and stately fellow, he was a shelter stray who was scheduled to be euthanized, and we rescued him just in the nick of time! We can't understand why Chance's owner didn't come to look for him. He is laid back, loving, gentle, sweet, and kind. (He likes to bark at cats, but he doesn't hurt them). Chance is the size of a large Golden Retriever, weighing approximately 85 lbs. He prefers adults and/or older children (eight yrs. of age or older) and he probably wouldn't mind being an only dog, since--while he is good with other dogs--he isn't much inclined to play with them. Several people have told us that they think Chance--with a little training--would make a great therapy dog, visiting the elderly. Chance also absolutely adores riding in the car, sitting patiently in the front passenger seat as he watches the world go by. We think he would make a great traveling companion for someone who is on the road a lot. We are looking for a home for Chance in which he will be the love of someone's life, where he won't have to be a "latch key" dog, and preferably a home with a safely fenced yard. (no invisible fencing, please). Chance has been wormed, immunized, heartworm checked, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $225. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked.
