Celia- On a Trial

Wonder Dog was asked to take on this amazing dog by a veterinarian in the South Bay. Someone dropped her off leaving her there completely emaciated. Apparently Celia was tied up in someone’s yard for an incredibly long amount of time, leaving her with very poor muscle mass in her back legs, bed sores, and wounds from where the rope was that they used to tie her up. Once Celia came to rescue we noticed that she was in much worse shape that we had thought, Celia's beautiful coat hides the fact that she is totally skin and bones underneath. We took poor Celia into one of our lovely vets where it was established that she has a pretty bad urinary tract infection, and the place where the rope had been tied so tightly around her neck had to be sown up. Despite the state that Celia is in the vet gave a very good prediction; if the antibiotics were able to control Celia's urinary tract infection she has a very great chance of recuperating and living out a very healthy life. Celia has been put on very high calorie food, and is gaining weight at a constant pace. She is also benefiting from light exercise in an attempt to build the muscle mass in her back legs. When one meets Celia the only evidence that she was neglected is physical. Her personality has not been altered by her mistreatment. She wants nothing more then to play with the other dogs in her foster home and love up her foster momma. She is such a sweetheart and we want nothing more then for her to recuperate and be a happy healthy doggy.
