The shelters are teeming with awesome dogs every day..............somehow this cutie was at the end of her rope. A volunteer at the shelter really took a liking to her. Although Cathy was shy at first, after being coaxed from her cage, once she was in the dog run with no leash on--she because a totally different dog. Silly, playful, and fun. Although still obviously stressed, her personality surfaced and she almost started skipping, she was so happy to be free. She also became extremely affectionate. She jumped in this volunteer's lap for cuddles and head scratches. This is surely a dog we think deserves a change. Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love.
