My Story

And what a Great Dane she is! She is a Blue Merle, with one eye turquoise blue and the other brown—with such a soft and gentle look. She is a very gentle girl and well behaved. She will rest her head against you. Highly intelligent, she is also looking for affection and thinks she is a 100 pound lap dog! Very good with people and other friendly dogs, she loves to go for walks, and knows how to SIT and GIVE THE PAW. She takes a treat gently.  About 2 ½ years old, this girl was abandoned outside after giving birth to and nursing pups—they seem to have kept her pups and dumped her, she was found tied to a door. The person tried for a full week to locate the owner to no avail. She ended up at the SPCA, we took her to one of our vets for her vaccines, she is heartworm negative, and dewormed. She will be spayed shortly by Gerdy’s Rescues. This Gentle Giant is slightly underweight, but has had a physical vet exam of her hips and spine, and there is no painful area. She seems fine. Travels well in the car, enjoying a ride on the back seat looking out the window (we suggest a dog seat belt!) Her tail was docked—likely to not interfere with puppies—the tail can knock against walls too and get injured, maybe that was also a reason. Ladylike in her every move, Catherine the Great is true royalty in spite of the way someone treated her just to profit from the sale of her puppies.
