Casey-adopted

Casey is wearing his Xmas hat in hopes that St. Nick will bring him a new family for Xmas. He has a most congenial personality. Casey is a very sweet little boy, between 1-2 yrs old, cream and white, Shih-Tzu. His owner decided to not breed dogs anymore so Casey is looking for a new forever home. Adopting a dog that has been moved from a home to a shelter and then to a rescue is not for everyone. It takes time and patience to make that dog feel at home in his new environment. It takes at least 1 week and usually up to a month for a dog to acclimate to your schedule and home. An animal shelter is the most stressful place for a dog to be, with other dogs barking and not knowing what is happening around them. Some dogs come to their new home scared and timid. They will sometimes take several days before they start eating and have anything to do with the new adopters.

It's not easy rescuing a dog. It takes patience and time and LOVE.
