Casey is a cutie! He was found at the pound - why would such a little baby be at the pound? He is currently in a foster home and he has been a good puppy so far, though puppies need lots of supervision!
Casey still has his baby teeth so he is maybe 3-4 months old. He has super soft, downy fur - almost like silky cotton. You have to feel it! Casey loves to play with his foster canine sibling all. day. long. He is currently staying in a crate during the day while foster mom is at work, then sleeps in his crate in her room at night.
Casey is not completely crate-trained. He'll protest for a few minutes. However if you ignore him, he'll settle down. That's when you praise him with a treat. He still needs potty breaks in the middle of the night since he is too young to hold his bladder.
His foster mom comes home for lunch and gives him a potty break. He cannot hold it for 8 hours. While at home, he goes out every 30-60 minutes to reinforce 'good potty!' So far no accidents in the house.
His foster mom is currently working on the 'sit' command (sit for food, petting, treats, and leash), 'off' for jumping up on things/people, and walking well on leash. Casey will bark at people during his walks so he'll need positive reinforcement on that aspect so that he learns to be a good dog. He has so much to learn still! He will make a great dog someday!
Casey is quite a sweet and playful guy, but he is too mouthy for smaller children. He maybe too playful for cats too. But if your dog needs a buddy, or you are ready to take on the challenges of raising a puppy - Casey is your guy!
The adoption fee for this dog is $150 which includes his neuter surgery, rabies shot, parvo/distemper shot and deworming. Leave a message at 435-752-3534 or email
[email protected] (his foster mom) if you would like to meet this dog.
