Carley-Adopted

Carley is currently being treated for heartworm. This process takes approximately 3 months. She will be ready to travel soon.

Carley entered the shelter from the city kennels on 03/07/2009. Carley is a beautiful collie mix, reddish gold in color with white markings. She is heartworm positive and needs a sponsor for her treatment. Carley is around 2 years old, estimated DOB 03/07/2007 and weighs appx 30 pounds. She is very gentle in nature and loves to be petted. She gets along well with other dogs and is staying in a bigger kennel with 4 other dogs! She is totally non aggressive. Please help us treat Carley for her heartworms and find her a loving home!

If this Dog is marked Urgent, it is because the Arkansas shelter where he/she resides is overfull. Please do not ask local shelters to take this dog in, there are many reasons why they cannot. Please also do not send us letters about why we euthanize, AHR does not euthanize, but the shelters we work with do. We are a rescue and we pull as many dogs as we have foster homes and funds for. We, like the shelter, do not have unlimited resources. Please, please: foster, adopt or sponsor a dog to help save their lives.

. We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $300 for dogs up to 6 months of age, $250 for dogs 7 months-5 years, and $200 for dogs 5 years and older. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and transport from Arkansas to Maine on a USDA approved transport with a Health Certificate. All dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to leaving Arkansas. All dogs will be tested for Heartworm prior to adoption. Almost Home Rescue will process your adoption.
