Thank you Emily for your picture of Carl, another displaced (reportedly dumped) dog just trying to find love. It was right before Independence Day when this intact male Pit/Lab mix showed up around the 7000 block of North 750 West in Fairland Indiana. He wouldn't leave the property, was scared and hated leashes. Officer Wood picked him up and returned him to safety. Carl did a lot of barking ands stomping at first but his tail would wag. It's as if he wanted us to know who his former human was. It took a bit, but he started to realize he found love, just not a forever home. Carl is now able to be walked on a leash and the three-to-four-year-old is hoping someone will fall in love with him. His foster to adopt fee has been waived. Because he came to us as a stray/dumped dog, we don't know a lot about him, but he keeps his kennel clean and likes children. If you have another dog, please bring it for a meet and greet. Questions about our pets, policies or procedures? Call The Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter at 317-392-5127 or email me anytime at [email protected]. Our adoption hours are M-Th from 10:30 to 4:30 and Friday until 4:00. God bless you, Chris
