07/11/24 Weight: 49lbs. Estimated DOB: 1/10/19 Spayed Hello! My name is Canela! I'm currently in Baja, Mexico, but I'm ready to fly to YOU!! This red beauty is one heck of an athlete. Her most favorite thing to do is fetch balls! To watch the speed in which she runs is an awesome sight. Canela is working on her leash skills and improving at a rapid rate. She enjoys affection and really likes butt scratches. She can also be happy to chill out with you. Canela spent 2 years on a short chain with no attention. She was used as a guard dog. Canela has made great progress at the rescue and has realized she loves to play with other dogs. Not all dogs though, as she prefers a more submissive pal. She is most definitely not a fan of cats. This girl would be an amazing running or hiking companion as she is lean and loves to go! Canela does have an old fracture on one of her back legs. But it does not slow her down one bit. 03/22/24 Canela had surgery to remove the plate in her leg as it was causing some pain. Before leaving Cortez Rescue, all dogs will be given a full medical assessment to insure optimum health, current on vaccinations, and desexed. Cortez dogs arenot microchipped.
