Cain

Meet Cain. Cain is an adorable 3 1/2 month old red male Doberman who is looking for a special new home. Can has had his tail docked, his ears cropped and his dewclaws removed and he is microchipped and current on vaccines. Cain was chasing the family cat when he jumped off a counter and broke the head of his femur bone up near his hip. The broken bone (the ball of the femur) was removed, it is a procedure called an FHO. Well, a few days later Cain had a raging infection in his leg along with a fever of 104.9!!! The owners didn't want to spend any more money so they asked to have Cain put to sleep. Well, thank goodness the animal hospital called Doberman Rescue to pick up Cain as he is a wonderful boy. Cain is healing nicely now and the sutures should be removed at the end of this week and than we will start physical therapy and pool/swimming exercises. Cain will walk with a limp and he may favor that leg for a while or for life? We don't know for sure the outcome but he is very young and he could be totally normal. Cain's ears are standing just fine but we have them taped up right now because at his age and with teething, they may start to fall and we don't want that. Cain is learning house training and he is being confined to a small pen at this time but by the end of the week he will have no restrictions on his activity. We are looking for somebody who can spend plenty of quality time raising a puppy as they are a lot of work if they are too turn out right. We will not adopt Cain to an apartment or condo, he needs a home with a backyard.
