ADOPTED Dec. 2008!
Floats like a butterfly (well, more like a gazelle!), by no means stings like a bee. In fact if Butterfly were to see a bee, she would run to you and grab your hand so that you both could explore the bee together. Once you have given her the assurance that the bee is OK, she will happily make friends with the bee and they would be friends forever.
When she first arrived at our shelter, she would slowly approach a volunteer because she was just so unsure of what to do. Now her tail wags so fast when she sees a visitor that it makes a “whish whish” sound. She's tall enough to give you a big wet kiss on the nose, too, when you're bending down to put her leash on. Every day we see her growing more confident in her ability to gauge new situations and not be afraid of everything. Little children are still a part of the scary part of the world for her (so loud and lively!) so she may need a few visits to get comfortable with the children in the family.
A timid disposition, but a wild child when it comes to play. She likes nothing better than a rousing game of tag with other action-loving dogs. She goes out with Jimmy (also listed) and she runs around and around the yard with Jimmy chasing her, but ultimately getting stuck in the middle as she whizzes by him. At the end he can hardly breathe, she's not even winded.
Butterfly needs an active family that can keep up with her energy level. Another active dog wouldn’t hurt. A fenced yard is a definite plus. Has nice car manners, but needs some practice and training on leash. Est. birthdate 3/06.
