My Story

Butter is a gorgeous healthy Jindo soon to be homeless through no fault of his own. He has been living tied up in a basement for the last 6-12 months as his owner had to move out and the elderly parents are overwhelmed. Four years old and roughly 50 pounds, he likes people and other dogs and needs a home where he can get walks or playtime in a fenced yard. His sister, Peanut, also needs a home but is extremely timid and very afraid of people. Both dogs need owners willing to work with them and give them a chance to be pets. No problem adopting them separately. While designated as National Treasures by the Korean government, Jindos are not for everyone. Please research this breed. For more information, call Lynne at (914) 667-2488.

This organization is run by volunteers only and we try our best to save as many homeless pets as possible. Since there are only a few volunteers, please understand that we are unable to answer phone calls about the animals. The first step is to fill out an adoption application which you can find on the Pet Rescue website: www.ny-petrescue.org and we will contact you as soon as possible, usually within 5 days. Pet Rescue doesn't have a shelter where you can come and meet the dogs. All showings are by appointment after your application has been approved. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] .

If you would like to sponsor a dog, please go to our home page at www.ny-petrescue.org. To sponsor the vet care of a dog, we need $100; to sponsor the transport of a dog, we need $25. Partial sponsorship is always appreciated.
