Buster (Beth-Fostered in New England)

Meet Buster! Buster is an 11 pound 5-6 year old chihuahua mix. He has never had a real home. He came from a hoarder in TN who had a yard full of unspayed and unneutered dogs. He never got what he needed as a puppy. It was probably hot in the summer and cold in the winter and all the dogs were outside. He was rescued from that situation a couple of years ago, but came to his foster home being so uncomfortable with touch that it took awhile for him to accept human touch or petting. He is great with other dogs, but had never learned trust or had kindness from a human hand. His foster mom says : He finally started letting me pet him and even pick him up. He took treats from me. But it was time to get him out of my house to see how he would do in a different environment. He has been in a different foster home up north for a month now. He has already opened up more and is getting comfortable. It was hard to get a collar and harness on him before he left and that is going to take time. I think a fence is a must. He is not comfortable at the vet when it comes to a heartworm test or shots. So many things that he has to learn are not bad things. He is fine with the cats at his new foster, doesn't pay any mind to them. Buster needs patience more than anything to blossom. He needs a quiet home with no children. Someone who can let him take time coming to them instead of rushing him. He needs his own family to learn to be loved. Buster is heartworm-negative and on heartworm prevention. He is neutered, up to date on all shots and microchipped. Buster is currently in New England. His adoption donation is $400 and includes his transport north from TN, vetting and health certificate.
