BURT

Burt is a happy, playful, people oriented "pogo stick" who is looking for a good balance of exercise and couch time in his future. Burt came to us by way of the Perry County Dog Shelter as an unclaimed stray with heartworm disease. Burt has been treated for heartworm disease and was a poster child for both treatment and recovery as he didn't mind his crate rest, he LOVES to snuggle in bed, and he really doesn't care about not "playing" outside as long as his person is willing to "rest" with him. Burt is a great traveler and actually a nice leash walking companion. Burt has done well with dogs of all sizes and accepts that some times, the biggest dog with the smallest attitude gets the smallest bed because the smallest dog with the biggest attitude has laid claim to the big beds. Burt is crate trained and very housebroken. We estimate this guy to be about 6 years of age, 60lbs and is an all American mutt with both Lab, Boxer, and Pit Bull features if we were to guess on his genetics. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable.
