Would you like to see the dogs in person?

We will be at Prairie Villiage on Saturday August 23rd from 10am-2pm! We will be among the vendors. Dogs up for adoption will be there for you to meet and foster parents will be there to ask questions. Applications for adoption will be accepted but we do not do on the spot adoptions. Please call ahead if the weather looks questionable! See you at Prairie Village outside of Madison, SD!

Bugsby is a 5 month old shih tzu/terrier mix. He weighs 20 pounds. Bugsby is full of puppy playfulness. He likes children but can be a little too playful for young ones. He likes other dogs. Bugsby was given to us by someone who could not keep him due to a landlord dispute. Bugsby will be a great friend for a family who will take him places and keep him busy!

Bugsby is neutered, utd shots, dewormed, heartworm tested. His adoption donation is $200. We require an adoption application, references, adoption contract and home visit. We only adopt to families in SD, MN, NE, ND, IA.

Important things to know before you contact us:

If you are out of state, it does take time to process your application and find a home visitor from another rescue to do your visit. Please be SERIOUS about adopting a dog from our rescue before submitting an application.

The application is the first step. After we receive and approve a completed application, we will schedule a home visit.

Almost Home is run from foster homes. We have no facility for the public to come in and view pets.

We do not ship our dogs.
