Bug

Hi, I'm Bug. I know you have probably already heard the very bad things that happened to Lady and I. We were found starving and left out in the heat. It's hard to think when your belly is empty, all the time. So, I've been here for awhile now. The humans have been feeding me really well and I've gained enough weight that you can't see my bones anymore. They ran some tests, and the results weren't good. Come to find out, I have literally no calcium in my body. Now I have to be on special food. I also found out that I have worms in my heart. At first I was really mad! I thought someone had given me the worms!! They didn't. I learned that heartworms are not contagious. We get them from mosquitoes. Darn bugs!! Anyways, I have to be on very expensive medicine for several months. It's going to be a long process to make me better. Until then, I have to keep telling myself to stay calm and not run around. I really enjoy being around my humans. I just wish that I had some of my own. A family, that is. I would like to think that I'm a lap dog. The humans here, tell me that I'm not. If I fits, I sits, I always say!! I get a little leery around new people. I warm up pretty quick though, as soon as I realize your a safe human.
