Meet Buford!! "He ain't nothing but a hound dog!!" Buford is a hunk of a Bluetick Coonhound!! He is about 5 years old and weighs in at 67#. He is a social and very well behaved boy! Buford LOVES to be outside and he will need to be kept contained by a privacy fence, secured outdoor kennel or tieout for outside time when he's not being watched. Buford is always searching our fenced in yards for anything not human or canine! He searches high looking up into the trees and his nose to the ground for any critter he could possibly find that doesn't belong on dog territory! Buford was obviously a trained hunter in his past life and that's all he wants to do! He's looking for a new owner that is going to give him that stimulation he so desires to do!! Buford was found as a stray almost two months ago and no owner ever came forward. He was kept safe at the finders home, until we had space to bring him in. Buford cannot be in a home with any small animals, as his drive to hunt is very strong. He gets along great with other dogs and should also be great with kids. Buford is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. His adopt fee is $100. ** He did test positive for Lyme Disease and we have started a month long treatment of Doxycycline. It is recommended he receive a Lyme Vaccine yearly and be kept on tick/flea prevention year round.
