?BCHS wants to help Miss Buffy get a new home at no fault of her own… here is her story ? Buffy is a wonderful, loving girl and we just want to keep her safe. We love her very much and absolutely want to keep her with us until we can find her a new, safe home and family. I noticed a typo on my last response and wanted to be clear we do not want to put her in any shelters or other homes if we can avoid that. Below is more about her and I’ve also attached some recent photos of her. Please let me know if you have any questions and anything we can do regarding meeting any families or adoption website listings. Buffy Anne DOB: 5/12/23 Pitbull Mix - Blonde and white fur 47 lbs. Spayed on 11/10/23 – DAPPv vaccine and Rabies same day. Paperwork with Rabies tag available. Crate & Kennel Trained (sleeps in crate at night but with other dogs until bedtime for everyone) Potty Trained Understands all basic commands Loves: Cuddles, running, treats and toys. Gets along with other dogs in our home but will need to be introduced to any new dogs first. Plays great with children all of ages (has not met a baby yet) and has never shown aggression to kids, men or women. So far, we’ve only noticed she does not like the dog next door or stray cats. Eating: We feed her about 1 ½ cups of Kindful Lamb and Veggie dry dog food twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening. She eats from a slow feeder bowl and will wait to eat until she hears “good girl” She does not have food aggression with humans or dogs but eats very quickly and will steal food if able to get to it. We feed her separately to stop her from stealing other dogs’ food. We were unable to really stop the quick eating, but the slow feeder bowl does help. She drinks water very quickly as well. She’s a very enthusiastic dog overall especially with matters of her tummy but can be very lazy and snuggle when it’s nap or bedtime and loves to lay between your legs with a blanket. Notes for potential family: Buffy is still very much a puppy and will chew anything left unattended without supervision.(food bowl, blankets and miscellaneous items found in yard) She has never chewed on shoes when left out or furniture (legs, edges, cushions, etc.) She has been on a chain or in kennel for safety recently unless being supervised while playing outside but does well with both. She is very clever and will try to get to someone or something she finds interesting no matter what the barricade and remembers escape routes. Fencing is a must for her new home. She does ok with collars and does not like leashes but will let you put them on though she prefers to walk freely. She will let you cut her nails if you hold and snuggle her to you and loves being told how good she’s being during with a treat after. Buffy does not like baths or bodies of water – she will let you wash her but prepared to get wet with her. She has never snapped or growled during but will often pull so hard on the leash that she will start to choke herself, so patience is key during bath time as there’s a lot of stopping to calm her down. We would provide her crate as well as her dog bowl and a full bag of her dog food she is currently eating.
