My Story

Buddy is mostly husky, maybe some collie and some very low content wolf. He is about 2 yrs old and has been rescued from an abusive situation. He once belonged to an unethical breeder, then was given away to teenagers, the chained and beaten for howling.

He is VERY social and likes being part of a pack. He is friendly, loving, playful and friendly to strangers. After consultation from those that have done wolfdog rescue for many years, I'm told that he has VERY low content wolf. The vet suggested his skeletal structure may even indicate a bit of collie in him, but not much wolf.

That being said, he still will not be placed with kids under 10 or young adults/inexperienced dog owners. He adores my teenage boys and thinks their kind of play and rough house is TONS of fun!!! He really just loves people in general. He also loves to swim. He will chase a ball, retreive it from the water..or just swim in circles for no apparent reason. He is good in a pool, uses stairs and won't rip the liner!! :)...He also loves his excursions to the lake with his canine buddies, the kids and the family.

He is a neutered male and seems submissive in general, he has been tested with other dogs, male and female and does great. He even gets along with my little 20lb dog. I wouldn't place him with smaller than 40lb dog though, as he does like to play -alot! And his enthusiasm would be too much for a smaller dog to take. While he doesn't act dominant, he also doesn't defer much...so would be better off with another non-dominant acting dog.

Surprisingly, he does fine with cats. He lets a new kitten smack his nose, jump on his face, and run like crazy around him and he never tries to chase.

He had serious ear infections when he was rescued and his head and ears have been shaved, so he doesn't look 'normal'.

He likes to play with his foster Mom, play ball and roll over for belly rubs. He loves stuffed toys and so far only throws them up in the air and tosses them around, he hasn't torn them up. Mostly he just wants to be near someone or with another pack member. He has been isolated for far too long.

He has been vaccinated: rabies, DHPP and microchipped.
