My Story
Buddy is currently living and training with the men at Beaumont Correctional Center.
This lil baby was younger than we usually bring into our program, but he's such a special kiddo that we just had to help him out!
Buddy is your classic puppy -- curious, playful, silly, snuggly, and expressive. But Buddy also happens to be deaf, and he was having trouble finding a family who could help him figure out the do's and don'ts of polite doggie society.
Luckily, our Handlers at Beaumont Correctional Center are stepping in to help Buddy navigate puppy-hood, learn new skills, and grow up to be his best self.
Buddy moved into the prison in March 2024 at 14 weeks old, and he is continually making GREAT progress with his handlers!
We think Buddy will be ready to find his forever family sometime this Summer or Fall, but adoption applications are accepted anytime! Fill out our adoption questionnaire if you want lil Buddy to be YOUR little buddy!

Update from Handler, posted 5/1/24
"Hello, my name is Buddy!
I am 18 weeks old, and I am a pit mix. I am hearing impaired, but that doesn't slow me down! I am fun-loving and full of energy. I love to lay out in the sun; I will lay out in the sun for hours if I can.
I can't hear, so my trainer uses hand signals to teach me. I know how to sit - wait - down - up - give - take.
My favorite things to do are cuddle, eat, chase flies, dig holes (love to dig holes!), and sleep on my back. I want to go home with a loving family who will run and play with me and who will understand that I need some extra help understanding what they're trying to say."

"Hello, my name is Buddy!
I am about 7 months old, long and slender. I am deaf. I am also confident and loving: I love all dogs. I love to play fetch. I love to get my belly rubbed.
I am a puppy, and I have a good amount of energy. All I want to do is play, but I also train every day and know the following skills. We use hand signals for Sit, Down, Up, Go to crate, Wait, Stay, On, Off, Name game, Focus, Watch me, Touch, Leave It, and Wait for food.
Speaking of food, I love food but I never guard my food. We can share! :)"
