My Story

This is not a complete list of all the animals available for adoption through the Johnston County Animal Protection League (JCAPL).  Many of our dogs can be seen at the PetSmart at White Oak Shopping Center (next to BJ's), in Garner (I-40 & Hwy 70) from noon to 4:00 p.m. every Saturday.  Cats are available and can be seen at the same location all hours the store is open and Adoption Coordinators are there on Saturday mornings.  Cats can also be seen at the Petsmart at Timber Drive, and on a rotating basis at the PetSmart on Capital Blvd. in Raleigh.

Buddha is a 13 week male puppy.  He was named for the size of his bellie!  Buddha is a lover and is not wild like his silings, but wants to be next to his people for some loving!  He thinks snuggling and cuddling is the best thing on earth!

Buddha and his litter-mates (Pepper, Boss, Razor, Coy and the lucky baby that went home with the vet) were surrendered to a local veterinarian office, after being order by Animal Control Officers to get them treated or be charged with neglect.  The owner could not afford to spay the mother pup, who kept having litters, nor could the owner afford to feed the pups, who were being neglected and left to fend for themselves.  The litter was surrendered to a local veterinarian, who gave them the once-over and started their medical care.

They have been skin scrapped for mange and it is negative and they have been started on their vaccines and have been dewormed.  When they are adopted out they will be current on their vaccines, neutered or spayed and microchip!

These lovely babies were all hairless, so it goes to show how important and critical diet is for healthy pups.   Their fur is filling-in nicely and they are transforming from “ugly ducklings” to beautiful “swans” before your very eyes.  We will continue to update photos of them so you can see the transformation.

If you would like to make a donation to help with their care, medicine and food, please make a donation to WWW.JCAPL.org
