One year old Buck is a little lover and quite the engaging character. His foster mom already finds herself smitten by this sweet pup:
“For one thing he has quickly gone from being called Buck to ‘Squirt’. He is just a little squirt of a guy, about 50lbs, who is eager to befriend the resident dogs.
Buck is sweet, young, head shy, full of wiggles and play. Upon arrival he was completely submissive to me and my dogs, but soon wiggled over for a cuddle. He walked nicely on the leash tonight on our walk, but was desperate to engage the others in some play time which they were not interested in, but he kept on nudging them gamely.
He is head shy and will flinch, which points to not an easy start in life. Sudden noise and movement makes him back away to assess the situation, so he’ll need someone willing to offer some reassurance. He prefers a hello a bit away from you till he checks you out, decides you are ok, and lands in your lap. He sits nicely, takes treats so softly and has the big beautiful chocolate eyes that just look at you with hope.
Buck is a young guy, so he still needs some puppy guidance, but submissive and ever so willing to please. He is very treat motivated so will learn quickly. While not quite a pocket lab, he is small, but all lab, nice square head and good proportions. He is a smidge under weight at the moment needing maybe 5-10lbs to be perfect, but will always be smaller and leaner than most.
