WOOHOOO The Court Jester himself is officially adopted and well-loved. He had us all on pins and needles for a while there as he was taking to throwing hissy fits when being left alone... a no-no in his hopeful mom Liselotte's condo, but Brutus has settled in and decided to quiet down when left alone. We couldn't be happier. Thank-you to the staff at Richmond then Vancouver SPCA for trusting that Brutus was meant to find his person; Wendy, Chung and their two girl dogs Ty and Ruby for fostering him when he was all out of options; and most of all Liselotte for seeing past the bad rap that pit bulls have, and trusting your instinct when you kept on going back to his petfinder bio. For a person who never planned on owning a pit bull, and was even a bit unsure of them, you sure have found a fine catch of one!
Brutus is an 11 1/2 years old pint-sized gentleman. He has just headed into foster care, and is proving himself to be such a great catch! He would be an awesome match for a single or working couple that are seeking an easy-going companion.
Here is an update from his foster mom!
I'm up early so I took some pics of B-man & the Girls.
He is so well mannered and even waits his turn to take his treat. Plus we've been making all three sit and wait before eatting their meals in the same room too,but of course with more space between them than shown during this "treat time".
Most of the time, he will just play by himself or crawl under the blanket and do whatever he does under there... so cute!
All in all, he seems pretty laid back, nothing phases him too much - he doesn't rush to the door when people come over, he doesn't get bothered by the dogs he's met so far, he doesn't even bother with the cats we've seen on the street so far...
He listens very well & generally responds quickly - i am impressed
He's an absolute wonderful little guy & we are very comfortable with this new living arrangement for Brutus. I know he's still settling in & will update you as we go along.
He loves people, and is ok with friendly female dogs. He especially loves small dogs of all genders! He is quite spry for his age, weighs about 40-45 lbs, and is such a handsome chap. Not to mention a great elvis impersonator (check out his signature stuck lip in the second pic!). Brutus is quite the joker, and oh so endearing! He is house-trained, excellent on-leash, knows basic commands (does the cutest shake-a-paw, shake the other paw, shake both paws, ever!), and loves a good treat! Please consider adopting a senior dog, they have so much love to give.
Here are some videos the Vancouver SPCA took of him!
