Brutus - Anatolian Shepherd (10-11 Mos.) Current Height / Weight : 36 Inches / 85 lbs This guy sounds to good to be true...BUT he is! From the Foster: My husband and I found Brutus roaming around our neighborhood last Tuesday afternoon. We called the Vet listed on his Rabies Vaccination tag to get a hold of his owner, and what we learned nearly broke our hearts. Brutus has had 2 prior owners. The first family began raising this Anatolian Shepherd pup on a local farm, and as these breeds generally do, Brutus began herding the cattle in the fields. The owners were not looking for a working dog, so they gave him away to another family. For reasons completely unknown to us, the second family “set him free,” and he wandered into our lives. Brutus is truly a gentle and affectionate giant. My husband and I have three other dogs – a Lab mix (M), a Shepherd mix (M), and a French bulldog (F). Introducing this big boy into our pack couldn’t have gone any smoother! He is incredibly submissive and laid back, letting even my 10 month old Frenchie bounce all over him and gnaw on his ears and tail. The first night that he came to our home, he let me groom him from head to tail. We have not seen any food or toy aggression, and I can say without a doubt that Brutus would do great with other dogs and likely children and cats (neither of which my husband and I have any of!). He’ll need a large area to run in, and a fenced in backyard is a must. He’s been fixed, is completely house-trained and great on a leash. Brutus prefers being with the pack, so he’ll need someone who can give him the attention he needs and deserves. Please help us find this loving pup a forever home! Posted 7.7.10
