Bruno

Bruno is 90lbs of love. He is an energetic, strong fella. He can be ok with other dogs and will enjoy short bouts of playtime. We require a dog meet up to evaluate goodness of fit for all animals we adopt; home-visits are required. Bruno will be 4 years old in April 2024. No small children due to his size and exuberance. Bruno ignores cats inside the house unless he has not been exercised enough and seeks out more playtime with them. He would do best with a cat who isn't dog fearful. In general, he is sweet and kind toward house cats. Because of his size he is best matched with a dog who is passive and is large enough to play with him. When he attempts to play with cats or small dogs we have to separate them to ensure their safety and comfort. He is a big clumsy boy who doesn't understand his strength! He gets along just fine cohabitating with small breeds and cats but they don't make ideal playmates of course. Bruno is very cuddly with people and we are looking for someone who is OK with him being on furniture and your lap or close by your side. He would really be heartbroken if he couldn't snuggle on the couch with you. He is crate-trained and accustomed to sleeping in it. Bruno was neglected and is recovering from that unfortunate past. He is vaccinated, micro-chipped and NEUTERED and heartworm negative. We require adopter to have a fenced yard. He will chase wildlife and stray cats. He is strong-willed and will do what he wants left unrestricted. No apartments or duplexes. He needs space and you should be an active person willing to play with/walk him. He wants the best spot in bed but is responding great to training (in terms of giving space--he will depart the couch if we are eating on it because he knows we don't want him in our faces during those times for example). -Bruno is gentle with cats and small dogs but would like a bigger dog playmate who can handle his bulk. -Bruno is crate trained and loves having his bedroom filled with his toys to stretch out in.
