I am around 5.5 years old and I am looking for my new FUREVER family. I came to Minnesota from Texas after being marked for euthanasia simply because of my size and breed. After three years living on my own I prefer to be the Alpha dog of the pack and am good at testing boundaries but listen if my handler is firm. Because of this, my forever mom or dad should be a strong handler. I am a typical "bully" breed and like to roughhouse and sometimes forget that I'm not a giant bulldozer. I have a big chonky head (for my giant brain) and occasionally get stuck under small tables because I forget my size. I like all humans but would do better in a house without small kiddos because of my size and strength. My foster mom is also a trainer and has been working with me on my dog interactions. I could live with a calm, respectful dog if I am given slow proper intros but I'd do best as an only doggo. I love my crate and make very little noise while in there (unless I need to go potty), it's my zen space where I feel safe and calm, I even eat in my crate. I am potty trained and haven't had any accidents in the house or in my crate. I eat like a true gentleman (minus the snuffling and drool) but am not super motivated by food; what motivates me is love and attention from my humans. If you are looking for a handsome boy who likes walks on the beach (or by the lake) and won't be afraid of my "happy noises" then you have found the right guy! My rescue definitely thinks that my adopter should have experience with my breed to make sure that I succeed as we are strong willed, stubborn dogs but also so full of love.
