Broly

Broly is a wonderful dog! He's loyal, expressive, & has a good balance of energy. He loves to play tug & lay around, too. His bark is big, but his heart is good. When we first met Broly, he wasn't quite sure how to communicate with his humans. His language consisted of a lot of mouthing and jumping, and he had trouble at times expressing himself when he was frustrated, bored, or wanted attention. In less than a month, he has made a lot of tangible progress in communicating politely. He is a good dog & will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family. He is still learning to manage his feelings and excitement, so I don't think he is a great fit for small kids, but he would be great for anyone who loves a loyal companion. (above bio provided by Broly's program handlers at Beaumont Correctional) ------------------------------------------------------------ Through partnerships with the Virginia Department of Corrections, FETCH a Cure's Pixie's Pen Pals program places homeless dogs in the care of incarcerated people for dedicated, individualized training and socialization guided by canine behavior specialists. Broly came to us from Goochland County Animal Shelter and has been living and training with the men at Beaumont Correctional Center since June 15th, 2024. Broly will be ready to find his forever family later this summer after completing his Canine Good Citizen test and working toward other training goals with his handlers at Beaumont Correctional Center. He is friendly with other dogs, but his handlers are still learning about his personality and play style.
