Courtesy post...we received heartfelt plea for help from Theresa looking for placement of her father's dog Bristol after his passing. "With a heavy heart, I'm reaching out in hopes of finding a new home for Bristol, my late father's beloved dog. My father, who passed away in January, rescued Bristol from BARCS, and they shared a special bond. Bristol is a sweet dog who deserves a second chance at a loving home. Bristol is likely around 6 to 7 years old, neutered, and chipped. He probably needs a vet visit to update his vaccinations. He has had no formal training and can be stubborn at times, but he has a loving nature. Bristol thrived in a home where he had no rules or boundaries, and he enjoyed being a loyal companion. Due to his past and current behavior, Bristol would do best in a home without children or cats. He has shown some issues with mouthing when corrected and has displayed barrier aggression, such as barking at strangers through a fence or door. My brother, who is currently caring for him, reports that he gets along well with their male and female dogs. We believe Bristol would flourish in a calm, adult-only household with experienced dog owners who can provide the training and structure he needs. He has had difficulty adjusting to the loss of my father and the changes in his living situation. Bristol deserves a home where he can be loved and cared for, ideally as a cherished couch potato.
