My Story

Meet Brighton! HISTORY: Brighton is a handsome, friendly, gentle, young German Shepherd mix with mesmerizing eyes, big ears, and beautiful coat coloring. Brighton and his two siblings were dumped along the side of a highway in eastern Washington. They are believed to have been born around January 1, 2023. While in his foster home, they did a DNA test on him which detected 8 breeds: 63% German Shepherd, 14% Doberman, 5% Border Collie, 5% Labrador Retriever, 5% Weimaraner, 4% Australian Cattle Dog, 2% Shiloh Shepherd, and 2% Chow Chow. He loves playing with other dogs, and enjoys playing with his toys and hanging out in the yard. He is shy at first but once he comes out of his shell, he is so fun, goofy, and wonderful. He likes to chase soccer balls in the yard and loves playing fetch with a tennis ball or his rope toy. He is very loyal and loves being around his people and will lay down in whatever room you are in while happily playing with his toys or taking a nap. He will also join you on the couch next to you or with his head in your lap. He will also climb up onto the couch with his toy and put the toy in your lap while he chews on it. He has experience being around dogs as small as 6 pounds and was fostered in a home that had other resident dogs including a 16-year-old blind beagle who he was very gentle with. He does well with loud noises and fireworks don’t seem to bother him. Brighton is house and crate trained. He is not a picky eater and is very food and treat motivated. He is a very smart dog, learns quickly, and is very trainable. He walks very well with a gentle leader halter, but could still use some training to help him become the best walker he can be. It would be best if there were no children in the his forever home. Brighton would make an excellent walking/running/hiking partner and would enjoy accompanying you on all of your dog-friendly outings.
