ADOPTED 2/08!!!
Briggs is a very special boy. Just like many Goldens, Briggs came into a shelter with no history. It appears though, that in his seven years he endured his share of mistreatment and heartache. Briggs is a big, beautiful, loving boy, despite not knowing what a kind hand felt like.
Briggs has permanent hair loss on his snout above his nose. It looks like it could have been a burn, or the results of repeatedly rubbing it for years. Perhaps he was on the end of a short chain, or locked in a cage. Only Briggs knows the sad truth.
Briggs was evaluated at Tufts University, and is taking medicine to control what appears to be a seizure disorder that occurs in his sleep. It sounds like a horrible nightmare where he is fighting for his life. Maybe they are residual effects from the horrible life he lived.
People choose rescue dogs for many reasons, most importantly to love them with all their hearts. Sometimes we come across an experienced dog owner who is looking for a dog that desperately needs help. Briggs is one of those dogs. Briggs needs someone to " Rescue" him and dedicate the time and patience it will take,, to make this boy all that he can be. He is kind and loving, but lacks self confidence and needs guidance. Briggs would do best in a home where someone would be around a lot of the time, and have a true desire to make a difference in this angels life. Anyone interested in adopting him would receive lots of information regarding his Tufts evaluation and progress to date from his wonderful foster mom. As well as support from the whole " Sunshine Family".
Briggs gets along very well with other dogs, but we recommend he not be placed in a home with cats.
Briggs could be a male version of a Cinderella story. PLEASE consider making his fairytale ending come true. If you are ready to hop on your white horse and come to this sweet boys rescue, you would be doing such a wonderful thing.
Please email Mindy ( his acting Fairy God Mother) and tell her you want to save Briggs, and provide with the therapeutic home he deserves. You will be getting something even more special then three wishes, you will be getting a BEST FRIEND!
