Boudreaux

Boudreaux is actually a 3 year old, Miniature American Shepherd. Some people call them mini aussies, but we had neither as an option when completing the Petfinder listing. Boudreaux is what they call "dilute" in his coat coloring and is just a stunning guy. He has been happy as a clam living his life on a farm where he has been exposed to horses, cats and a host of other animals. He however has not been around the chickens because.........well they taste like chicken and his mom didn't want to tempt fate. Other than for the occasional vet appointment, he hasn't been off the farm much so riding in cars, leash walks, and other things that city dogs do on the regular will be new to him and he will need remedial training. He also has come inside the home intermittently so housebreaking would probably be another area where he may need some remedial work. He is a herding dog and has been tested for the MDR1 gene and he is non affected and not a carrier. He is purebred, but like most rescues we do not release papers as our dogs are altered when adopted. Boudreaux is currently in TN, but we do have the availability to transport him at the cost of the rescue. He currently is heartworm positive (asymptomatic and light case) but we will be treating so that so he can be a happy and healthy boy for years to come. We have recently placed 3 other dogs from this kennel and all have been wonderful, quick to catch on to both leash walking and house breaking and are very devoted to their new families.
