11-10-09, thank you Campbell family of Mt. Vernon, WA! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~UPDATE 11-2-09, this is a HORSE of a pup! Boy, he put on weight nicely. Was showing some signs of weakness in his hing leg muscles, but that's improved greatly now that he's out of quarantine and running around the farm building good strong muscles to carry all that weight! Good with all other animals and learning to be gentle with children. NEEDLE sharp teeth right now aren't very fun in your hand, but he's learning! Because of the rough start he had, we are asking for a Boxer or Dane experienced owner only, please. He needs to be "grown" slow, and excersised moderately, but regularly, to build muscle, as well as healthy joints. Keep in mind Boxer's are known for cancer and tumors and Danes are known for bad hips and joints. Coming from the conditions we rescued these dogs from there may or may not be lasting effects of malnourishment. We highly suggest the highest quality pet food you can get and pet health insurance for the life of the pup. Click on the pet health insurance link on our home page to learn more about the free insurance they come with from Petfinder.com. We don't see any signs of lasting effects now, but he is a pup, and growing, and there are no guarantee's. ***********************************************************************************************************************IN 10-16-09. Owner surrender, she didn't have time or money to care for them. She had both parents on premises. She surrendered the mother purebred Boxer at the same time and she went to Boxer Rescue in Post Falls, ID. You may have seen his sister, Brooklyn, post here last week. Took a little longer to get the brothers healthy. They were covered in fleas, loaded with parasites, and so badly starved, it took awhile to get their systems used to solid food again. They are healthy and thriving now tho, and Bosco is ready to find a home of his very own now. He is going to be a big one.... already up to 38#s. They were 14 wks old at incoming date, so add to that to date to get the actual age now. Very easy going pup, crate trained, started on housebreaking and eating solid food well now. We are going to ask that he be kept on Eagle Pack large/giant puppy formula, as it took his system long enough to get settled, we don't want diet change diarrhea again! It is sold locally, and you can find a retailer near you by going to www.eaglepack.com
