We are getting great reports on this sweet boy! He is greatly missed by the shelter staff and volunteers . . . even the feral cats that live around the shelter seem to miss him! Stay tuned for his return date because you will need to grab him fast if you want to adopt this amazing dog! UPDATE 6/19/09
Big 'ole Boone had been sitting at our shelter patiently waiting for his forever home, but people just kept passing him by. We decided he needed something to set him apart; something to make him special and perfect for any family. So Boone packed up his toys and headed off to our P.P.A.W.S. program (Prison Puppies Are Worthy of Service). While there, he will have one-on-one time with an inmate who has been professionally trained to teach doggie obedience. Boone will return to us, a very well-mannered, house broken dog who has a few cute tricks to show off. Please check back for his return back to the shelter!
Seeing is believing . . . and hearing is believing with this BIG boy! We are guessing at his breed mix . . . some see more hound/Bloodhound, especially when he barks . . . he has that definitive bark of a Bloodhound on a scent trail. Regardless of his genetic makeup, Boone is a gentle giant. How does anyone lose a dog this size? Yes, he was picked up as a "stray". Boone is very affectionate and would make a good-natured companion for any family. He would really love to have kids to romp and play with, as well.
Adoption Fee: $85 which includes microchipping, spay/neuter, heartworm test, shots, worming. Cash or check only -- we do not take credit cards. Staff and volunteers socialize and work with the dogs on a daily basis. Most are leash trained and kennel trained upon adoption. We have really great dogs just waiting to be your new best friend!
We need volunteers and foster homes. Please email or call us , or just simply drop by, if you are interested in volunteering or fostering. These animals would love to have you come out and take them for a walk, or just sit and pet them.
**We reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our first concern is the happiness and welfare of the animal. We do what is in the best interest of the animals. **
