Boomer

Boomer – Staffordshire terrier mix – 3yrs – male (55lbs) Meet our handsome boy, Boomer! This guy has been through a lot! After living the first part of his life with a man who loved him, his owner died and the owner’s daughter took him in. Sadly, she tied him outside and paid little to no attention to him. Luckily, some very nice neighbors paid attention; they fed him and gave him water. While his owner didn’t really want him, she also wasn’t willing to let Animal Control take him. One day, Boomer broke the rope and ran away from that home. He was picked up by Animal Control and (luckily) the owner did not claim him. That’s where SHR stepped in and we’ve made a promise to this sweet boy that we will find him a loving, forever family! Boomer is all about people; he craves our attention and we’re happy to oblige. Boomer is goofy, VERY treat motivated, and he’s an athlete – he’d make a great jogging or hiking companion. He is not dog aggressive, but would be perfectly happy being an only dog in a home where he gets all the attention. He does okay with female dogs, but is somewhat impatient with males, especially if the male is dominant. We’re not sure if he’s housebroken, but he doesn’t have accidents in his kennel so it’s possible even though we know he was forced to live outside in his last home. We know he’s smart and wants to please so we believe training will go relatively smoothly. Our gorgeous boy is loving, loyal, and fun to have around.
