Dog Name: BooBerry Breed: Mixed Sex: Female Age: 2 Weight: 49lbs Medical Needs: None (Already spayed.) Housebroken: Yes. Crate trained: Yes, she will go in willingly with a point or the command kennel. Good in the car: Yes, she loves an open window! Good on a leash: Yes with a prong collar. Energy level: Medium-High. She is a young 2 and still has a ton of puppy energy. Need a fenced in yard: No, but if you have one it should be over 5ft tall. She's practicing to beat the Guinness Book of World Records for highest jump by a canine. Otherwise, she would benefit from several walks a day at a minimum. She would make an excellent running partner too! Dog Friendly: Yes, with proper shutdown and proper introductions. She has been fostered with dogs ranging in weight from 25lbs to 125lbs, all ages, sexes and different breeds. Booberry LOVES to play with other dogs but since she still has puppy tendencies, she is still learning to read the room. Her style of play can be rough at times and off putting to calmer or more sensitive pups. She will need to be supervised and corrected until she learns to take cues from her doggy companions that playtime is over or they're not interested. All dogs in my home are fed separately in their individual space to avoid food guarding issues. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No. Cat Friendly? Unknown. She is very curious about anything that moves in the neighborhood- cats, squirrels, bugs, leaves blowing. Kid Friendly: Yes. However, Booberry is a jumper and even gives hugs. I have been working with her diligently to stop this and she is a fast learner and eager to please. She has zero spatial awareness. She is leggy and petite but can quite literally jump 5+ feet. Therefore she should be supervised with mini humans. Currently fostered with dog savvy 8 and 14 year old boys. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age with proper supervision. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Booberry came to GRR from our southern shelter partners in Georgia. We don't know her entire history but based off normal behaviors I've witnessed, she is basically a puppy or the human equivalent of a toddler in an adult dog's body. This is likely due to her spending key periods of development in a shelter environment. The more exposure she receives to LIFE the quicker she will catch up. The good news: Booberry doesn't seem to be any worse for wear for growing up in a shelter. Shes exudes confidence and greets every day with endless tail wags and pure joy. She has been in foster for FIVE months and has quickly learned that living in a home is amazing. She has had zero accidents, chews nothing she isn't supposed to and is generally well behaved for her age and development. Booberry lives and breathes for her human companions. She gives off stage 5 clinger energy in a big but not obnoxious way. She wants to be wherever you are doing whatever you're doing. #Twinning Want to go on an adventure? Boo is your ride or die whether that's going on a strenuous hike, training for a marathon or simply Netflix and chill. She is adaptable to any situation and highly trainable. I believe she would THRIVE with agility training. Additionally, she is the world's best cuddler and will give you her belly to rub every chance she gets! She plays hard and loves even harder. Statistically black/ darker animals are harder to adopt. Why? They simply don't photograph well. I can't let you slip by without telling you how absolutely stunning Boo truly is. Her coat is softer than silk and shines like diamonds reflecting in the sun.She has a unique mix of numerous, gorgeous tones of black and brown with white patches. For the remainder of the Month of May, select dog's adoption fees have been reduced. Booberry is among those really wonderful pups who have just simply been overlooked that is eligible. Booberry has been one of my easiest foster's to date. She is a true joy to have and would make an excellent addition to any family or lifestyle.
