Boo ~ Pending

Arrival story:Boo came to us from a rural shelter when her time was up.

Approximate age / weight:Boo is 9 months of age and about 55 pounds.

Personality:Hi! My name is Boo! I'm 9 months old and I'm a Bluetick Coonhound. My foster mom, dad, and sister pulled me from a shelter in Northern Michigan because my owners didn't want me anymore. They said that I wasn't a good hunter and didn't need me anymore. I just didn't like the loud guns and cold weather. I really just wanted to snuggle up with a nice chew toy by the fire. Good thing my foster family came to get me, because that's what I get to do now! I love to lay by a warm fire, snuggle with my foster family, and play with my foster sister, Colby Jack. I also love to go for long walks and runs, and I think car rides are the best! I'm still learning about how to tell my foster family when I need to go to the bathroom outside, but I'm much improved since the time I came to live with them. I'm also learning new tricks, like "sit," and "shake." I also love to eat my treats (well, pretty much everything!)

Forever home:My foster mom and dad are still trying to get as much information about me as possible, because I'm still new to their family. So far, they think I would do best in a home that does not have cats or small dogs, because I'm a prey driven dog. Also, I would be great in a home with another same sized doggy friend so I would have a playmate. The best type of playmate for me would be a mild tempered and laid back dog, since that is what I'm currently used to. I also should have a large fenced in yard that is tall and secure, so there is no way for me to escape because once I catch a scent, I take off in hot pursuit. Most importantly, I need to find a patient, loving family who will understand that I'm still very young and trying to learn how to be the best family member that I can be. Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years +), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
